bharry’s WebLog : Preview of the next TFS Power Tools release

October 2, 2008

This is one major version of the TFS Power Tools! I’ll need to read the blog post again to take it all in, but at first glance it looks like a great update! Powershell support is nice, Shell integration is OK and the Team node looks incredibly useful! Looking forward to the first CTP! :)

jQuery and Microsoft – ScottGu’s Blog

September 29, 2008

that Microsoft will be shipping jQuery with Visual Studio going forward. We will distribute the jQuery JavaScript library as-is, and will not be forking or changing the source from the main jQuery branch. The files will continue to use and ship under the existing jQuery MIT license. We will also distribute intellisense-annotated versions that provide great Visual Studio intellisense and help-integration at design-time.

Another win for ScottGu and Microsoft! Well done! And this I believe is the way Microsoft should continue to do business in the future. Some might see it as embrace and extend, and in some respects it is, but in a good way. :) Take my word for it.

February 8, 2008

Rob Caron : Visual Studio 2008 Comprehensive Product Comparison

January 30, 2008

Damn… Microsoft needs to make this simpler! All these versions, it makes us all confused! How about an Express (free), Professional (no TFS love) and Team (all the goodness) version only? Just like with Windows Vista there are just far too many options here…
