Honeywell HDMI to Cat5 converter introduction

Sweet! Since we’re in the process of buying a new home I might have to think really hard about something like this… Running double cat6 cables to all rooms was in my plans from day 1, but perhaps I should run 4xCat6 cables?

Cat 5e/6 is definitely the way to go. I ran 5 cat5e cables (1 for IR, 2 for Video 1 and 2 for Video 2) along with a RGB5Mini. That’s probably the most you’re going to ever need.

5 cables to most rooms? Sounds a bit excessive, doesn’t it? We’ll see what the cost looks like I guess… ;)
Are you using the Honeywell converter kit? How do you run IR over Cat cables?
